There's a lot of buzz around the next generation of Apple smartphone and according to Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek, it will not be called the iPhone 5 but the iPhone 4S -- a la iPhone 3GS as an increment from the 3G model.
Misek writes in his research note that "according to our industry checks, the device should be called iPhone 4S and include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support". The Qualcomm LTE chip Apple would have liked to include doesn't allegedly deliver the expected so the Apple iPhone 4S will come without LTE support.
As we suspected, the next iPhone will join T-Mobile. Additionally, Apple is also planning on bringing Sprint on board according to rumors, alongside Chine Mobile which, added to the current crop of iPhone carriers should have a great positive impact on sales numbers regarding units. Still, a long way to go as September is the earliest one can hope for Apple to unveil the next generation iPhone, the 4S.
